Patricia Akinaga is a landscape architect, architect, and urban planner. She got her master’s in landscape architecture from the University of California UC Berkeley and her Ph.D. from the University of São Paulo in Landscape and Environment. For more than 25 years, she has applied his creative and analytical talent in projects of various typologies and scales including urban parks, river revitalizations, educational projects, recovery of mining areas, cultural institutions, mixed-use enterprises, urban mobility plans, and projects related to historical and cultural heritage in Brazil, USA, Latin America, and Africa. Sensible to nuance and diversity, it exemplifies effective intercultural communication. Her international training shapes her design approach and amplifies her actions in promoting sustainable interactions between cities and nature. She works in academia in the US, Ecuador, and Brazil and is a registered consultant at UNGM. Patricia collaborates with international firms by enriching project vocabulary, collaborating with strategies and innovations, and sharing experiences in developing global impact landscapes.
At Studio-MLA, Patricia is a Principal in charge of working on projects, contracts, and business development.
