Development of a vision and landscape plan for an Atlantic Forest remnant adjacent to the Casa Oswaldo Cruz Museum, place of birth of scientist Oswaldo Cruz in São Luiz do Piratininga - São Paulo State in 1872 listed by IPHAN (National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage) as a historical heritage site. All deliverables were developed according to the Guide of Project Development by Monumenta/Minc Program (Federal Department of Culture) and included a detailed survey of existing topography and a botanical survey, with a report on environmental degradation, mapping plant species, and analyzing conservation and ecological succession stages. The design intervention consisted of trails within the forest, interpretive stations on Oswaldo Cruz's life history, demonstration gardens, pollinators, and a medicinal herbs garden. Also, the design team has developed sustainable irrigation, lighting, and drainage systems along with specifications and a construction budget estimate worksheet. Oswaldo Gonçalves Cruz was a Brazilian physician, pioneer bacteriologist, epidemiologist, public health officer, and founder of the Oswaldo Cruz Institute.
