The municipality of São Francisco do Conde is home to a great heritage of the colonial period and preserves an area of Atlantic Forest reserve and mangroves. The city is also famous for its architecture with baroque elements, a small fisherman´s wharf, and cultural expressions of its ethnic diversity, Portuguese heritage, indigenous and Africans who inhabited the region. São Francisco do Conde preserves cultural festivals such as Bumba-meu-boi, Nega Maluca and Festa de São João. Our team has worked on the waterfront and several public spaces in the historic downtown and other neighborhoods. At Praça Independência, our scope included the design and restoration of site furnishings (pergolas, benches, water features) according to its authenticity, preserving paving patterns in the colonial center, respecting existing historical elements such as the cannon, bust, and flag poles. The project also included planting restoration and tree management.
