Mine Park is the result of a public-private partnership between the City of Itupeva and the company Embu S/A, formalized on September 5, 2017, and signed in the Mayor's Office. A Minas de Inhandjara neighborhood park area was designated a park area due to its historical aspects and proximity to the Jundiaí River. The area is approximately 37,000 m², with access to the Inhandjara Mine operated in tungsten extraction in the mid-1940s. Embu S/A, the technical team of the City of Itupeva, and the community created a vision for the future park want for the site, this being a differential of the project. The mission of Mine Park includes: I - protect the remnants of the Atlantic forest, to ensure the maintenance of existing ecological processes. II - protect the remnants of native vegetation in the area, biodiversity corridors in the region, remnant near the Jundiaí River; III - enable environmental and cultural education activities intending to disseminate concepts and stimulate the adoption of environmental conservation practices such as the sustainable use of natural resources; IV - promote public use, cultural, educational activities, recreation, respecting conservation, and preservation aspects. V - mainly benefits the local community, tourists, and the Itupevense family.
