Patricia Akinaga Landscape Architecture, Ecological Urbanism, and Environmental Planning is an award-winning design firm located in São Paulo and Salvador with an international presence. In addition to the practice, our professionals collaborate in academia as professors and researchers.
Founded in 2005, Patrícia Akinaga is a design firm recognized for its professional integrity, creativity, environmental sensitivity, and technical knowledge. The studio has extensive experience in small to large projects and works with the public and private sectors in various typologies.
Patrícia Akinaga is a small firm. Our collaborative work with selected experts and consultants for the project’s scale, complexity, and technical requirements is part of our identity.
The consultant group includes artists, agronomists, civil/structural engineers, lighting designers, mine engineers, geologists, architects, historians, archaeologists, agrotechnicians, and biologists.
We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and insistence that our designs get built within high-quality standards. Our work success results from our understanding of the landscape and building methods, excellent working relationships with entrepreneurs, builders, communities, and public agents. We actively research new cutting-edge materials and technologies to incorporate them into our design process.
The success of our practice relies on different and complementary knowledge of our partners and the team under the leadership of Patricia Akinaga, Ph.D., experienced in national and international complex landscape and urban projects with active professional practice in the United States, Marcelo Kubo, architect, project manager and Ph.D. candidate in Biology and Vanessa Kraml, architect and restoration and conservation specialist.
